Many anglers are noticing a bit of a slowdown. It happens every year about now. The forage base on many lakes is well-established and all species are concentrating now in pockets on structure, in cover, or they're suspending in open water. The path to success follows an approach where your presentation must be spot on in high-percentage areas. In deeper water a high-percentage area is where you're seeing fish on the sonar. In shallow water the thickest cover or transition areas are the best spots. Lively bait, well-tuned lures and a determination that you are on fish and they will bite is the right mindset at this time.
