Donate blood

Blood donors needed at one of Memorial Blood Centers' donor centers. 1-1/2 hours each time. Call 651-332-7000 to determine eligibility. Minimum age is 16. mbc.org.

Food packing

Feed My Starving Children's mission is to feed all of God's starving children. 2-hour shifts. fmsc.org

Young authors

Success Beyond the Classroom, providing students with opportunities to expand creative thinking and problem-solving skills through events, offers a Young Authors Conference May 24-27 at Bethel University. Help with check-in, room monitor, lunch assistance, book fair and more. successbeyond.org.

Loan committee

Community Action Partnership of Ramsey & Washington Counties invites volunteers to help families in need of reliable transportation. Must be 18 and have experience in a field such as accounting, investments, banking, loans, etc. caprw.org.

Check electronics

Assist Christian Life Ministries New Day Thrift Store and check small electronics (such as radios, tools and small kitchen appliances) that have been donated to verify that they are in working order. Little Canada location. clmonline.org.

Volunteer as a family

Doing Good Together helps people raise compassionate and socially conscious children through family volunteerism. doinggoodtogether.org.

Tutor, mentor

Assist the Good Neighbor Center in St. Paul Monday through Wednesday evenings. Help students with homework and other activities to enhance learning. 441rice.com.

Thrift store help

Help out Neighbors, Inc., in South St. Paul. The Clothes Closet thrift store is open to the public and also provides free clothing and household items to clients in need. Sort and tag donations and welcome and assist customers. Weekdays. neighborsmn.org.

Make a meal

Assist Loaves & Fishes in the metro area (several locations) to serve those in need by cooking and serving a meal. Site coordinators provide assistance during meal preparation and serving. Volunteers as young as 8 with proper supervision. loavesandfishesmn.org.

Event help

Help the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities with special events throughout the year. Assist with registration, greeting, setup/clean up, silent auction and more. boysandgirls.org.

Teach English

Literacy Minnesota needs ESL teachers for adult learners in Minneapolis. Extensive training provided along with curriculum and support. Three hours per week for minimum of four months. Classes of 5-20 learners. literacymn.org.
