We can't all be William and Kate, can we, fellow slobs? But many American couples still manage to spend between $24,000 and $29,000 on a wedding.

I'd like to hear from couples or their friends and families who cut a few corners at their wedding. I'd like to hear from everyday couples whose wedding wasn't paid for by taxpayers (the royals) or corporate sponsors (Star Jones). What tips do you have to share?

Recently, I noticed that Costco and Sam's Club sell wedding flowers, including bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages and centerpieces. It can mean significant savings.

I've heard of other couples who make the rehearsal dinner or the reception a potluck.

What are others doing to save money? Please let me know for a future article. Call 612-673-7633 or email me at jewoldt@startribune.com.

Feel free to send in tips of all kinds--moderate to rock bottom savings on everything from invitations, flowers, music, drinks, cake, reception, dress and honeymoon.

A toast to frugal couples everywhere! May you start your lives together debt-free.
