Gophers goaltender Michael Shibrowski will make his first start of the season on Saturday night against Minnesota State. Shibrowski has been in a backup role since sophomore Adam Wilcox earned the starting job in the first month of the season last year.

Shibrowski last started in January of last season and earned a no-decision.

The senior earned the start for his commitment to team, according to Gophers staff. Wilcox is healthy and is coming off a strong night in the net on Friday for a 4-1 win over Minnesota State.

Shibrowski was 1-1-0 last season with a .881 save percentage and 3.18 goals against average. He was hampered by an injury early in the season.

• I'm jumping over to Mariucci from Ridder Arena after covering Gophers women's hockey's 6-1 blowout against North Dakota (link), so I'll keep this short and include some video of Wilcox from last night.

Also, for those of you that never got an updated version with quotes of last night's game story, I apologize. It was never updated online, but the issues was fixed early this afternoon and here is the link to get some insight from Mike Reilly, Connor Reilly, Adam Wilcox, and coach Don Lucia.

More on the Reilly-to-Reilly goal in last night's Ice Gold blog.

Tonight's 7:10 p.m. game is on FSN Plus, live-streamed online by BTN2Go.com, and can be heard on 1500-AM.
