Goldberg Bonding's annual freebie Ready to get rowdy on New Year's Eve? Add some snark to the evening by wearing a free hat embossed with "Goldberg Bail Bonds." The company is giving away free stocking caps and headbands (limit two) while a supply of 400 lasts. If you find yourself ringing in the new year in the slammer and your buddies aren't taking your calls, take off your hat and call the hometown bail bondsman. Goldberg Bonding Co. (444 S. 4th St., Mpls., 612-333-8111, www.gold bergbonding.com) has been getting its clients out of jail for more than 100 years.

Fill a bag with Christmas for $25 You know the usual spots to go to stock up on Christmas decor after the holiday, but one store under the radar offers some hard-to-beat deals. At Christmas Corner, all ornaments are now $1, regularly $5 to $25. On Saturday, customers can fill a bag for $25. The provided bags are slightly smaller than a grocery sack. The largest selection is at Burnsville Center (Burnsville, second floor by Macy's, 952-892-1266), followed by Gaviidae Common (651 Nicollet Mall, Mpls., second floor by Saks, 612-332-2615) and Southdale (Edina, first floor by the Apple Store, 952-920-0609).

Storewide bookstore discount Still lamenting the fact that we're about to lose another independent bookstore (Biermaier's Books)? Then support the survivors. Magers & Quinn Booksellers (3038 Hennepin Av., Mpls., 612-822-4611, www.magersandquinn.com) will be open Saturday (New Year's Day) from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a storewide 25 percent discount.
