U goes for 20th win on Senior Day
Gophers update: With losses in their past two games, the Gophers (19-9, 8-9) likely will need to win the Big Ten tournament to secure an NCAA bid. A victory on Senior Day would even the Gophers' Big Ten record and give the program its 14th 20-win season. The Gophers are 13-4 at home, 4-4 in conference play. Seniors Kenisha Bell, Ananalese Lamke, Palma Kaposi and Irene Garrido Perez will be honored after the game. G/F Destiny Pitts has averaged 20.6 points over the past 10 games and has scored 20 or more points in the past five. F Taiye Bello already owns the school record for offensive rebounds in a season (144).
Spartans update: Michigan State (19-9, 9-8) tied a school record with 15 home wins this season, but the Spartans are just 3-7 on the road, 1-7 in conference play. Eighth in the nation in assists, the Spartans had 28 assists on 35 made baskets in their 86-68 victory over the Gophers on Jan. 9 in East Lansing. The Spartans are led by G Shay Colley (14.9 points per game, 5.4 rebounds). Freshman G Nia Clouden is averaging 11.9 points.
