Gophers women's basketball faces surging Purdue team in regular-season finale
The Boilermakers are 6-2 in their past eight games with the two losses coming against No. 2 Indiana.

Gophers update: For the final regular-season game of the year, this is senior day as well as alumni day. The Gophers (10-18, 3-14 Big Ten) are looking for a win heading into the Big Ten tournament, which starts Wednesday at Target Center. Freshman G Mara Braun has scored in double figures in seven straight, averaging 16.4 points in that time and shooting 43.5% on threes. Sophomore C Rose Micheaux has scored 38 points on 13-for-23 shooting (56.5%) the last three games. Freshman G Amaya Battle has averaged eight points, 5.8 assists and 6.5 rebounds in her last four. The Gophers lost at Purdue by 19 points Jan. 21.
Purdue update: The Boilermakers (18-8, 9-7) have won six of their last eight games, the only two losses coming to second-ranked Indiana. They are coming off a 23-point home win against Penn State on Wednesday. Purdue has clinched its first winning record in conference play in five years. Purdue holds opponents to 38.6% shooting, tied with Indiana for best in the conference. Leading scorers are senior G Lasha Petree (14.6), senior G Abbey Ellis (11.3) and senior F Caitlyn Harper (11.0).
Minnesota’s bench scored 50 points, including a team-leading 18 points from graduate transfer Annika Stewart, showcasing the depth that coach Dawn Plitzuweit promised.
