A large quilt created by friends, relatives and family members of those who have Alzheimer's or died as a result of the disease will be on display this weekend at the Mall of America in Bloomington.

The Quilt to Remember was unveiled for the first time in 2006 in New York's Central Park and has now grown to 7,664 feet with 295 individuals and 46 organizations contributing to the project put on by the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.

Each of the panels that are 4 feet by 4 feet or 8 feet by 8 feet pay tribute to those who have or had Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia, and their caregivers or health care professionals.

The quilt will be on view in Macy's Court from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. today and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
