A heavy television fell on and fatally struck a 6-year-old boy in his Willmar home, authorities said.

The incident occurred Thursday evening in a home in the 800 block of 4th Street SE., according to police.
The child was identified as Julian Demarce, who died after "lengthy resuscitation efforts" at Rice Hospital in Willmar, a statement from police said.
Police were alerted to a problem by a "hysterical caller unable to relay specific information" over the phone, the statement continued.
Officers arrived at the home and learned from people there that an "older style television" weighing more than 190 pounds fell from a stand onto the boy's head.
