Here's the local Warped Tour lineup (July 8)

Although it has been on the official Vans Warped Tour calendar for several months now, the Minnesota stop on the 18th annual (!) skater-punk/thrash-and-crash festival was formally announced today. It's happening a little earlier in the itinerary than usual, July 8, but at the same old spot, the fields outside Canterbury Park in Shakopee. Tickets ($36.75) are now on sale through Down in the Valley record stores or online at Ticketweb. Here is the entire list of performers so far on the local bill:

None of those names stand out as either the token veteran act or the pop or rap star-on-the-cusp, as has been the case in several past years (remember Katy Perry doing Warped in 2008?). However, about 10 of those bands are big enough to headline First Ave on their own. As always, the ticket price seems like a steal compared to the dizzying amount of offerings -- especially when you also consider all the costly but cool eco initiatives behind Warped nowadays, including a solar-powered stage and biodiesel tour trucks and buses.
