Here's the local Warped Tour lineup (July 8)

As always, the punk-rock caravan will pull into Canterbury Park with 40 bands and ample eco initiatives.

Although it has been on the official Vans Warped Tour calendar for several months now, the Minnesota stop on the 18th annual (!) skater-punk/thrash-and-crash festival was formally announced today. It's happening a little earlier in the itinerary than usual, July 8, but at the same old spot, the fields outside Canterbury Park in Shakopee. Tickets ($36.75) are now on sale through Down in the Valley record stores or online at Ticketweb. Here is the entire list of performers so far on the local bill:

(The Minnesota Star Tribune)

Rise Against / Anti-Flag / Taking Back Sunday / All Time Low / The Used / New Found Glory / Streetlight Manifesto / Senses Fail / Yellowcard / Pierce The Veil / Of Mice And Men / We the Kings / Breathe Carolina / Miss May I / Falling in Reverse / Four Year Strong / Every Time I Die / Mayday / Parade / blessthefall / Chelsea Grin / For Today / Memphis May Fire / You Me At Six / Bayside / Vanna / Echo Movement / The Constellations / Tomorrows Bad Seeds / iwrestledabearonce / Vampires Everywhere / Title Fight / Man Overboard / The Ghost Inside / We Are The In Crowd / Ballyhoo! / Fireworks / Cold Forty Three / Make Do and Mend / Skip the Foreplay / We Are the Ocean / Dead Sara / Transit

None of those names stand out as either the token veteran act or the pop or rap star-on-the-cusp, as has been the case in several past years (remember Katy Perry doing Warped in 2008?). However, about 10 of those bands are big enough to headline First Ave on their own. As always, the ticket price seems like a steal compared to the dizzying amount of offerings -- especially when you also consider all the costly but cool eco initiatives behind Warped nowadays, including a solar-powered stage and biodiesel tour trucks and buses.
