Here's your chance to speak up on transit tax
March 14, 2008 at 2:15AM
People who want to tell the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners how they feel about an optional quarter-cent sales tax for transit projects will get their chance Tuesday.
The board will hold two public hearings on the possible tax, one at 2 p.m. in the board room on the 24th floor of the Hennepin County Government Center at 300 S. Sixth St. in Minneapolis, the other at 7:30 p.m. in the Eden Prairie Public Library at 565 Prairie Center Drive.
Seven counties in the metro area are eligible to participate in the tax. To begin collecting sales tax money in July, counties need to decide whether to participate by April 1.
