Just when you thought the high school hockey season couldn't be more of a rollercoaster ride …
Hockey Day Minnesota 2025 will set up at Valleyfair amusement park
The annual event celebrating hockey from youth to pros will happen amid rollercoasters and rides.
In 2025, Hockey Day Minnesota will happen on the grounds of Valleyfair, Shakopee's popular amusement park, the Wild and partners Bally Sports North and Minnesota Hockey announced.
"This is becoming so much more exciting," Hockey Day Minnesota 2025 chairman Matthew Underwood said. "To be able to announce that Valleyfair, an iconic Shakopee destination, will be our hosts for Hockey Day Minnesota 2025, and to see our official 2025 brand emerging, adds to the growing anticipation of our community."
Shakopee had been announced as the destination in January, but the specific site had not been revealed. Valleyfair's entertainment options in warm seasons involve 75 rides, among them eight rollercoasters. The amusement park opened in 1976.
The dates, matchups and full schedule for Hockey Day 2025 are yet to be announced.
Hockey Day Minnesota is a daylong event, with hockey from high school to college to the pros, some of it played on outdoor rinks, broadcast on Bally Sports North. The event at Valleyfair will be the 19th Hockey Day Minnesota. No. 18 will be in Warroad in January.
