Going back to '80s VHS, "Re-Animator" has been a cult horror classic. Now director Stuart Gordon's over-the-top gore-fest — based on H.P. Lovecraft's tale of a scientist's mad quest to bring the dead back to life — looks more gruesome than ever in a new, limited-edition Blu-ray coming Tuesday from Arrow Video and MVD.

But the real news is the two-disc set's impressive array of extras, including an exclusive 105-minute "Integral Version" that combines the theatrical release and the unrated edition to create a super-cut of the film. Fans can choose to watch just the unrated version, too.

Other goodies (most resurrected from previous home-video releases) include commentary by Gordon and stars Jeffrey Combs and Barbara Crampton; interviews with Gordon, Crampton and composer Richard Band; deleted and extended scenes; and a feature-length making-of documentary. There's also a new featurette looking at the various films inspired by Lovecraft's stories.

It's an out-of-this-world release that fans of the horror icon will die for.

Also coming Tuesday

"Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul," "The Dinner," "The Hunter's Prayer," "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword," "Kung Fu Yoga," "Snatched."

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
