HOMES BY ARCHITECTS TOUR

What: The Hanson residence is among 14 new and renovated homes -- designed by members of the Minnesota chapter of the American Institute of Architects -- that will be on the tour. During the tour, architects will be on hand to answer questions about the design process.

Where: Twin Cities area and St. Peter, Minn.

When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 18 and 19.

Tickets: $15 available online until noon Sept. 17 at www.homesbyarchitects.org. Tour day at the door: $20 for entire tour and $10 for individual homes.

What: Jen and Scott Hanson's whole-house makeover of their Lake Minnetonka home.

Size: 4,296 square feet includes the finished basement and three bedrooms and three bathrooms.
