We are not in any way trying to diminish what happened in iowa City on Saturday afternoon when North Dakota State kicked a last-second field goal to defeat 10th-ranked Iowa 23-21. It was probably the biggest victory in North Dakota State's history, which includes being the Football College Subdivision (FCS) national champions for the last five years.

The FCS is for Division I schools that participate on a lower level than their Football Bowl Subdivision counterparts. Every now and then, an FCS school beats an FBS school, and it's seen as a pretty big deal.
North Dakota State has won its last six games against FCS schools, a run that includes a 37-24 victory over Minnesota in 2011. Kansas, Kansas State, Colorado State and Iowa State are the other schools on the list.
Beating Iowa actually resulted in the Bison getting a bunch of votes in this week's Associated Press football poll, which typically is reserved for the FBS schools. North Dakota State missed the top 25 by three spots, ahead of Oklahoma State, Georgia Tech and Notre Dame, among others.
