The Twin Cities will get to see just how great a showman Hugh Jackman really is next year.

Xcel Energy Center has announced a June 22 performance by the Australian movie and Broadway star, who has given his first-ever major concert tour the truly showy title of "Hugh Jackman: The Man. The Music. The Show."

Tickets go on sale next Friday, Dec. 7, at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster and the arena box office. Promoter AEG Presents and the staff at our publicly subsidized arena again did not have the courtesy to let the public know what a seat will cost in their show announcement. VIP options will also be available via hughjackmantheshow.com.

Performing with an orchestra, Jackman is promising songs from last year's hit musical film "The Greatest Showman" (in which he starred as P.T. Barnum), as well as pieces from "Les Miserable" (the movie version of which earned him an Oscar nomination) and the Australian-reared Broadway musical "The Boy from Oz" (for which he earned a Tony Award). No word if he will also brandish Wolverine claws at any point in the shows, but that seems like a great tour merch item.
