A woman was found slain at her home in Dayton, and her husband is under arrest and suspected of killing her, authorities said Friday.

The 58-year-old woman's body was found by sheriff's deputies who were called early Friday to the home in the 13800 block of Vinewood Lane N., said Hennepin County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Lisa Kiava.

Authorities are not yet disclosing the couple's identities. They also won't say how the woman was killed or the circumstances that led to her death in the northwest Twin Cities suburb.

The 49-year-old suspect called police at 4:45 a.m. to report the killing. He was booked into the jail shortly after noon.

Chief Richard Pietrzak said there have been recent police calls to the home, but those were for "health issues."

Dayton last had a homicide in 1984, the chief said.
