If Cole DeVries starts Thursday for the Twins, he'll be their 11th starter since Sept. 24, 2011
Good times.

Assuming La Velle's info is correct and Cole DeVries does, indeed, end up starting the Thursday game for the Twins against the White Sox, he will be the team's ninth starting pitcher in the first 44 games this season. Taking it a step further, he will be the 11th starter in 50 games dating back to late September in 2011. Here are those 11 pitchers (again, assuming DeVries pitches Thursday and the projected starters the next two nights hold up) and the number of starts they will have made by then: *Carl Pavano: 10
*Jason Marquis: 7
*Nick Blackburn: 7
*Francisco Liriano: 6
*Liam Hendriks: 5
*Scott Diamond: 5
*Anthony Swarzak: 4
*P.J. Walters: 3
*Kevin Slowey: 1
*Brian Duensing: 1
*Cole DeVries: 1 (submitted photo of Cole, right, that ran with 2003 Star Tribune All-Metro team).
