IF YOU GO
In the late 1800s, the Nicolin family owned so much property in Jordan that some referred to it as "Nicolinville." Frank Nicolin's mansion, now the Nicolin Mansion Bed & Breakfast (221 Broadway St. S.; 952-492-6441; www.nicolinmansion.com) was built in 1888 with stone from his own quarry. When built, the stately mansion was considered the finest home in Scott County. It may still be today. Book one of five well-appointed rooms and turn your day trip into a romantic weekend.
DINING OUT

Favorites include the Chateaubriand and seafood dishes.
For family-friendly dining in a Western-themed atmosphere, visit the OK Corral Restaurant & Saloon (20201 Johnson Memorial Dr.; 952-492-6700), known for steaks, prime rib, burgers and a plentiful Sunday brunch.
Enjoy casual dining at the Feed Mill Restaurant (200 Water St.; 952-492-3646) as you watch Sand Creek burble outside the windows. Breakfast is served anytime, and the lunch and dinner menu includes favorites such as the Hot Beef Commercial.
