Illinois matched its overall win total from last season and moved into sole possession of second place in the Big Ten with a 54-51 home victory over Rutgers on Saturday.
Illinois' 28.6% shooting (18 of 63) was its worst in a win since at least 1979-80. It was the worst shooting percentage in a win by a Big Ten team in at least 10 years.
Ayo Dosunmu scored 18 points and Kofi Cockburn had 11 points and 17 rebounds for Illinois (12-5, 4-2), which has won three in a row. Dosunmu made four free throws in the final two minutes to seal the win.
Eleven of the conference's 14 teams have either two or three losses.
Jacob Young led Rutgers (12-4, 3-2) with 16 points, and Ron Harper Jr. added nine.
Rutgers was 20-for-59 (34%) from the field.
Indiana 66, No. 11 Ohio State 54: The host Hoosiers (13-3, 3-2) dealt the Buckeyes (11-5, 1-4) their fourth loss in a row. Ohio State hasn't scored 60 or more points since Dec. 21.
"Give Indiana credit for making timely shots and really defending well. But we have to find a way to figure some things out here quickly," Ohio State coach Chris Holtmann said.
