Last winter's Polar Vortex allowed access to rock formations around Black Beach, on Lake Superior's North Shore (Silver Bay,Mn). This photo was taken of two intrepid hikers as they walked on , and around, rock formations otherwise inaccessible other than by watercraft. Last winter's extreme cold allowed hikers to safely travel on foot over a frozen Lake Superior. Walt Huss
