Post time: 1:30 p.m. Best bet: Teton Motel (2nd race). Best 50 cent Pick-4: Race 1, (1,2,4,6,/6,/4,5,6,7,/5,7,11), $24.00 1st race 3 1/2 furlongs. 2-year-olds. Maiden special weight. Purse $20,000. (#/Horse, Jockey, Trainer Wt.Odds) 1/Franz (Stevens, Biehler)1187-2 2/Holiday Flight (Trimble, Johnson)1185-1 3/Demmi's Spaz (Prado, Winget)1186-1 4/Horse Divine (Rivera Jr., Corcoran)1186-1 5/Sun of King (Velazquez,Winget)1138-1 6/Chasin Rachel (Goodwin, Donlin)1185-2 7/Burning Fuhry (Dieguez, Bethke)1189-2 . In this group of first-timers, I'll go with the rail horse FRANZ. Has decent works and horses coming off the rail are dominating in winning 67 percent of these 3 1/2 furlong races. HOLIDAY FLIGHT has a solid work tab for trainer Johnson who does well in sending out new shooters. CHASIN RACHEL has the quickest work at three furlongs in this field. 2nd race 5 1/2 furlongs. 3-year-olds and up. Claiming $5,000. Purse $10,500. 1/Grandtastic (Riggs, Padilla)1218-1 2/The Boot (Rivera Jr., Wolff)1216-1 3/Rigger (Butler, Bravo)1217-2 4/Sugar Peaks (Rhone, Arterburn)1214-1 5/Great Exuma (Castro, Riecken)1213-1 6/Teton Motel (Goodwin, Brinson)1232-1. TETON MOTEL is coming off a dominating performance in drawing away from the field for trainer Brinson, who is hitting 70 percent for this meet. Place horse in same race came back for win, which makes Teton Motel's victory even more impressive. GREAT EXUMA takes significant class drop from allowance race last out in route race. Has tactical speed to sit behind our top pick and press. RIGGER ran for show money last out at Lone Star at this level. Should show good early speed with Butler aboard. 3rd race 5 1/2 furlongs. Fillies and mares. 3-year-olds and up. Maiden claiming $10,000. Purse $11,000. 1/Cala B Tryen (Keith, Biehler)1198-1 2/Fancy Bell (Rivera Jr., Gourneau)11915-1 3/Nikalicious (Luark, Backaus)12315-1 4/Lady's Edition (Goodwin, Pfeifer)1233-1 5/Racine Belle (Aguilar, Canchari)1236-1 6/Shuffie J Bear (Riggs, Robertson)1195-2 7/Gogo Jojo (Butler, Rhone)1195-1 8/Don't Tattle (Rivera, Oliver)1199-2. LADY'S EDITION tried to wire the field in last effort but was outfinished at the end. Will try again today in same manner against a struggling maiden field. GOGO JOJO begins career today with decent training sessions. Perfect field to begin career for Butler/Rhone team. SHUFFIE J BEAR and RACINE BELLE both are coming off dull performances but have bullet workouts in training. Should get decent prices but a win by either wouldn't be a shocker. 4th race 5 1/2 furlongs. State-bred. Fillies and mares. 3-year-olds and up. Maiden special weight. Purse $25,600. 1/Usana (Butler, Rhone)1195-1 2/Demi's No Trump (Prado, Winget)11915-1 3/Somerset Ballerina (Riggs, Donlin)1236-1 4/Lucky Gem (Velazquez, Pfeifer)11420-1 5/Lady of the Castle (Dieguez, Bethke)1194-1 6/Gaelic Pride (Luark, McKinley)11912-1 7/Jumpin Jennie (Rivera Jr., Gourneau)1193-1 8/Silver Splendor (Keith, Hanson)11912-1 9/Ajolieskier (Arroyo, Berg)11915-1 10/Adrenaline Junky (Stevens, Smith)1198-1 11/Cap and Trade (Castro, Bravo)1199-2. JUMPIN JENNIE set the pace in first career race last out but weakened at the end and held for place honors. Race was a good education and looks to improve off it. LADY OF THE CASTLE ran second last out but was brought down after erratic running behavior down the stretch. Puts the blinkers on today. CAP AND TRADE took the brunt of Lady and Castle's veering in and was checked hard. Should be on or near the lead today but will have to fire from post-11. 5th race 6 furlongs. Fillies and mares. 3-year-olds and up. Allowance. Purse $21,000. 1/Precious Affair (Delorme, Cranwell)1175-1 2/Bob's Hilda (Castro, Davis Jr.)1217-2 3/Lucky High (Franco, Silva)1219-2 4/Thelatestthing (Trimble, Johnson)1176-1 5/Most Darling (Butler, Bravo)1215-1 6/Hot Body (Dieguez, Suter)1198-5. HOT BODY will be a single on most tickets starting the late Pick-4. Won by over 12 lengths last out getting the lead and never looking back. Will have plenty of company up front today in a field full of speed. BOB'S HILDA is another speedball who won too going gate-to-wire drawing away late. Will have to step it up a notch to beat our top pick. LUCKY HIGH could get lucky if the pace falls apart and pounce on tiring front runners if it were to happen. Won last time on the dirt from stalking position. 6th race Shot of Gold Stakes. 6 furlongs. 3-year-olds and up. Purse $50,000. 1/Freedom First (Cardoso, Donlin)11812-1 2/Silver Magnus (Riggs, Robertson)1202-1 3/I'll Show Them (Walker Jr, Brinson)1185-2 4/Jamaican Memories (Stevens, VanWinkle)1188-1 5/Breezy Point (Delorme, Porter)11615-1 6/Including Gold (Rivera, Van Winkle)1166-1 7/Humble Smarty (Butler, Boarman)1183-1. I'LL SHOW THEM ran a 99 speed figure last out in one of the best performances of this meet. Won by over 12 lengths drawing away and has a bullet workout coming in to this race. SILVER MAGNUS is the class of the field for trainer Robertson. Had traffic problems last out being blocked but was able to get through to finish two-lengths back. Main threat to top pick. HUMBLE SMARTY is a consistent runner who should be a selection in your exacta/trifecta tickets. 7th race Brooks Fields Stakes. 7 1/2 furlongs. 3-year-olds and up. Purse $50,000. 1/Free Sailing (Butler, Bravo)1208-1 2/Dakota Digger (Bell, Robertson)11810-1 3/Wild Jacob (Stevens, Mankin)1184-1 4/Little Wagon (Delorme, Kirby)1166-1 5/Stachys (Riggs, Biehler)1203-1 6/Red Lead (Franco, Hartman)11812-1 7/Gleam of Hope (Keith, Stidham)1185-2 8/Tequila Factor (Rivera, Wilson)1208-1. TEQUILA FACTOR hasn't raced since March but last effort on the grass was a victory by five lengths against a tough field. Love the outside post starting position and should get a decent price in this race. GLEAM OF HOPE is another class horse who is coming out of a Grade-3 race at Arlington. Hasn't raced on the grass since November at Churchill but is the deserving favorite today in a wide open race. DAKOTA DIGGER will have his work cut out but is the lone speed and could set easy fractions to have something left in the tank to hold on for win. 8th race 1 mile. State-bred. Fillies and mares. 3 year-olds and up. Maiden special weight. Purse $25,600. 1/Tahkodha Belle (Keith, McFadden)1236-1 2/Aaron's Belt (Rivera Jr., Weir)12310-1 3/Siften Gold Nugget (Dieguez, Peters)11812-1 4/Hoodwinked Holly (Trimble, McFadden)1239-2 5/Pretty Penelope (Walker Jr, Scherer)11810-1 6/Girlmeetsdesperado (Goodwin, Scherer)1188-1 7/Rusana (Castro, Rhone)11815-1 8/Royal Bluff (Riggs, Pfeifer)11812-1 9/Sol Fire (Butler, Riecken)1237-2 10/Dear Hrishi (Stevens, Bethke)1234-1. HOODWINKED HOLLY is stretching out from a sprint race like many of her rivals, but I give her the slight edge for decent early and late speed in this head-scratcher of a race. DEAR HRISHI is 0-for-26, so hard to jump on the band wagon now. Does hit the board a lot and is one of the few in this race who have ran this mile distance. GIRLMEETSDESPARADO debuts today and trainer Scherer excels with first-timers. Has solid training sessions but times are average at best. 9th race 350 yards. 3-year-olds and up. Allowance. Purse $8,500. #/Horse, Jockey, Trainer Wt.Odds 1/Eye M a Pistol (Luark, Clevenger)1266-1 2/Cs Arc Light (Ricardo, Hanson)1265-1 3/Tiny Bit Moody (Beeson, Johnson)1246-1 4/Play the Pipes (Bell, Wessels)1263-1 5/Howdedoit (Goodwin, Hardy)1249-2 6/Shes a Classic Sign (Prado, Fennell Jr)1245-1 7/One Kool Wagon (Frink, Hanson)1247-2. ONE KOOL WAGON won last out after breaking in from start. Facing better today but with clean break could prove tough. PLAY THE PIPES drops in class and distance and gets Bell for the ride. Will need to get off to quick start. EYE M A PISTOL won last out in a late gain. Broke inward that race so starting from the rail might be a problem. 10th race 300 yards. 3-year-olds and up. Allowance. Purse $10,000. 1/Paintyourownwagon (Luark, Blair)1264-1 2/Gettinthere (Arroyo, Martinez)12610-1 3/Chicks Brief Case (Beeson, Johnson)1265-2 4/Red Hot Zoomer (Goodwin, Hardy)1277-2 5/Cedar Creek (Riggs, Svendsen)1263-1 6/Six It Up (Frink, Blair)1269-2. RED HOT ZOOMER drops in class for the Hardy barn after a even effort last out. Won two back in gate-to-wire fashion against better competition. CHICKS BRIEF CASE won last race under confident handling leading the field out of the gate. CEDAR CREEK finished third behind Chick's Brief Case but showed good early speed. Their 28-point lead got trimmed to two late, but they held on in a Western Conference finals rematch that missed an injured Luka Doncic after halftime.
