Prep career: Led Benilde-St. Margaret's to the Class 3A championship in 2008. He was named the state's Mr. Basketball at the end of that season. He also starred for Howard Pulley's AAU program.
College career: Struggled in his first year at Wisconsin, when he made just 19 percent of his three-pointers. But this season he has blossomed into one of the premier point guards in the country (18.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game).
Basketball honors in 2010-11: All-Big Ten first team (media and coaches), Bob Cousy Award finalist, All-Big Ten defensive team. He's also a candidate for various All-America honors.
Family: Son of Louis and Lezlie Taylor of Bloomington; has older brother, Brandon.
