St. Paul native Josh Blue may now make his home in Colorado, but he's returning to the Twin Cities to tape his soon-to-be-released comedy special.

"I love the crowds there because they're smart and tough," said Blue who made a name for himself by winning "Last Comic Standing" and becoming a role model for people who, like him, have cerebral palsy. "When I was growing up, my parents were too cheap to buy a snowblower, so my crippled butt was out clearing the whole driveway every winter. It was hell."

Blue said the special doesn't have a distributor yet, but don't be surprised if it ends up on Comedy Central which spotlighted him in 2009. Blue performs at 7 and 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the Varsity Theater. The $20 tickets can be purchased at the Loring Pasta Bar or at ticketfly.com.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
