Blake McCoy, a reporter and weekend anchor for KARE-TV, Channel 11, is off to Los Angeles for a job as NBC News correspondent.

The move by McCoy, 30, was revealed in a tweet Tuesday morning by KARE. McCoy said he starts his new duties in mid-October reporting for "Today," the nightly newscast and for MSNBC.
McCoy, who joined KARE in 2012, has worked in Boise, Idaho, at KBOI and in his hometown of Las Vegas for KTNV. He graduated in 2007 from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., majoring in political science and journalism. While in the nation's capital, he was a legislative intern in the U.S. House.
