What's there? Primarily walleyes and muskies, both of which are stocked in this popular metro lake. The walleye population was the highest ever in 2008, according to a DNR assessment. They averaged nearly 17 inches and 2.94 pounds. One-third of the sampled walleyes were 20 inches or bigger. Northern abundance is so-so, and fish averaged almost 23 inches. Nine percent were 28 inches or bigger. Yellow perch abundance has increased, and 16 percent were 8 inches or bigger. Twelve percent of the crappies were 8 inches or larger.
