Lauri Markkanen scored 11 of his 14 points in the second half, including a key three-pointer with 48.5 seconds left, and the Chicago Bulls beat the Atlanta Hawks 91-86 on Thursday night for their first win of the season.

Markkanen, picked in the first round by the Bulls after his pick was acquired from the Timberwolves along with Zach LaVine and Kris Dunn in the Jimmy Butler deal, grabbed 13 rebounds, leading a dominant rebounding effort for Chicago. Robin Lopez had 16 points and eight rebounds and reserve David Nwaba finished with 15 points and 11 boards, helping the Bulls to a whopping 62-40 advantage on the glass.

Marco Belinelli made five three-pointers on his way to 23 points for Atlanta.

Dunn (left index finger dislocation) could make his Bulls debut Saturday against Oklahoma City. He got hurt during an Oct. 6 preseason game. "It's still very swollen, so we'll get a good practice with him tomorrow and then make that determination on Saturday," coach Fred Hoiberg said.

Memphis 96, Dallas 91: Marc Gasol had 25 points and 13 rebounds and Mike Conley added 22 points as the Grizzlies beat the visiting Mavericks. Harrison Barnes scored 22 points to lead the Mavericks.

Boston 96, Milwaukee 89: The Celtics ruined the Bucks' one-game return to their former home, the Mecca, as Al Horford scored 27 points and Kyrie Irving added 24. Giannis Antetokounmpo led Milwaukee with 28 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and three steals.

Attles hospitalized: Former Warriors coach and player Al Attles, a current ambassador for the franchise, is hospitalized and will miss Friday night's game when the defending champions are celebrating his nearly six decades of contributions to the organization.

Warriors spokesman Raymond Ridder said Thursday that the beloved Attles, who turns 81 on Nov. 7, is doing fine and will return to Oracle Arena as soon as he can in the near future. Details of his condition were not disclosed, the team said.
