Forward Anders Lee of Edina and goalie Brady Hjelle of International Falls earned CCHA weekly awards this week.
Lee, a junior at Notre Dame, was named the league's offensive player of the week. He had three goals and an assist as the Irish split a home series with North Dakota.
Hjelle, a senior who transferred from Minnesota Duluth to Ohio State, stopped 31 shots as the Buckeyes beat Lake Superior State 4-1 and then stopped 18 in a 3-2 loss to the same team. He was named the goalie of the week.
U's ROOKIE OF WEEK
In WCHA women's hockey, defenseman Lee Stecklein of the Gophers was named the rookie of the week. She had two goals and two assists as the Gophers swept New Hampshire. Stecklein was a plus-4 in the series.
Senior forward Brianna Decker of Wisconsin was the offensive player of the week -- the Gophers play the Badgers on Saturday and Sunday. Senior defenseman Monique Lamoureux, a former Gopher, was the defensive player of the week.
Junior forward Amanda Kessel of the Gophers was one of the other nominees for offensive player of the week, while freshman goalie Amanda Leveille, a teammate, was nominated for defensive player of the week.
