Letter of the Day (Dec. 18): Ramsey's mayor

The mayor of Ramsey has found himself in a predicament ("Ramsey's long-distance mayor," Dec. 11).

Bob Ramsey found work 500 miles away in North Dakota after he was left without a job. I congratulate the mayor for his responsible attitude and his diligence in seeking out gainful employment.

At the same time, I am asking him to do the right thing and resign as mayor of Ramsey.

He's missed one City Council meeting already and, by his own admission, will miss some or all council work sessions. He's supposed to represent the people, but he can't be here to properly learn about the issues at hand.

It's time for him to step down.

MARK ANDERSON, RAMSEY

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
