Underwood grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a journalism degree. After college, she was a camp counselor at Camp Tamarack, St. Croix State Park. She lives in Plymouth with her husband and son, and spends free time gardening, traveling, going Up North to the family cabin, movies, checking out the newest taproom, playing Bunco and keeping up with pop culture.
