Lynx and Sky are on upswing after slow starts
Preview: The Lynx (4-5), who have won four of their past five games, and Sky (4-7) are meeting for the first time this season. The Lynx are coming off an 80-64 victory over Los Angeles at Target Center on Saturday. Chicago has won two consecutive games after ending a seven-game losing streak. The Sky defeated Indiana 83-79 on the road on Saturday after defeating the Fever 92-76 at home on Wednesday.
Players to watch: G Crystal Dangerfield scored a team-high 16 points for the Lynx on Saturday. She was 4-for-5 from three-point range. Center Sylvia Fowles, who has 13 steals in her past three games, leads the WNBA with 2.4 per game. She is averaging 16.8 points and 8.7 rebounds. F/C Candace Parker, who is in her first season with the Sky after 13 seasons with Los Angeles, is averaging 13 points and nine rebounds per game. G/F Kahleah Copper leads the Sky in scoring (14.2 average).
Numbers: The Lynx have shot 40 percent from three-point range (46-of-115) in their past five games. In their first four games of the season, they made just 23.5 percent.
Injuries: For the Lynx, Natalie Achonwa (knee), Aerial Powers (thumb), Jessica Shepard (groin) and Rennia Davis (foot) are out.
