Man, 21, found shot to death in idling vehicle in north Minneapolis
Police have not announced any arrests.
Officers made the discovery shortly before 10:30 p.m. in the 4100 block of N. Humboldt Avenue.
Police say the car had been on the residential block with its engine running for several hours. The man, 21 years old, was in the driver's seat, according to police.
Officials have yet to identify the man or announce any arrests.
The car was in front of the home of Solimar Garcia Barger, who said Tuesday that she first noticed the vehicle about 3 p.m. and then realized it was still out there more than seven hours later.
"It was weird that it was parked 2 or 3 feet from the curb, not like a normal parking job," Garcia Barger said. "But that's not super uncommon down here."
While taking her dog for a late afternoon walk, she added, "I crossed in front of [the car], looked through the front windshield and couldn't see anyone in the driver's seat."
There now have been 52 homicides in Minneapolis so far this year, according to a Star Tribune database. That compares with 75 at this time last year.
