A 19-year-old man was killed and two others wounded in a shooting early Friday outside a downtown Minneapolis strip club, the city's first killing in the Warehouse District this year, police said.
Man killed outside Minneapolis strip club
Minneapolis police say an argument led to the gunfire Friday outside the 418 Club. Two others were injured.
No one has been arrested, and police are seeking witnesses to come forward.
Officers found the man about 3 a.m. on a sidewalk near the 418 Club on 3rd Avenue N. The victim, whose name has not been released, was shot in the head and died at the scene, said Capt. Amelia Huffman.
Two other men with gunshot wounds were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment. One was grazed by a bullet, and the other was shot in the shoulder. Both injuries were not considered life-threatening, police said.
An argument that started in one bar and then spread to another played a role in the shooting, Huffman said. It's unclear whether either the victims or suspects had been in the 418 Club, also known as Whispers.
Police are trying to determine how many people fired shots. She said no gun was recovered near the victim, who had an extensive criminal history.
It was the 27th homicide in Minneapolis this year, compared with 34 at this time last year. In the Warehouse District, the biggest crime problems this year have been assaults resulting from intoxication, said First Precinct Inspector Janee Harteau.
