A man was shot in the leg in downtown Minneapolis on Saturday night near 6th Street and Hennepin Avenue. The shooting occurred near Lyon's Pub around 8 p.m.

The man's injuries were not life-threatening, according to Minneapolis police. He was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center.

Leading up to the shooting, several groups of people were arguing with one another, police said. The shooting victim was not part of the argument and was apparently a bystander, police said. A stray bullet also went through a nearby skyway window.

Based on witness accounts, police were able to match the description of involved parties with a group that got on the light rail. Police detained five people for questioning at the Government Center train station and a gun was recovered, police said.

The incident led to a temporary stoppage of Metro Transit's Green and Blue Lines. Train service resumed shortly after.
