Maya Moore named WNBA player of the month
The Lynx star on Tuesday was named WNBA Western Conference player of the month. It's the sixth time in her career she's been named conference player of the month.
The WNBA's reigning MVP on Tuesday was named Western Conference player of the month, one day after she had been named the conference player of the week for the third straight time.
Moore averaged 25.8 points, 8.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists in nine games in July, shooting 41.9 percent from three-point range. She led the league in three-pointers made in July with 26,
She was also MVP of the league all-star game on July 25, totaling 30 points, six rebounds and five assists in the West's 117-112 victory.
Moore had scored at least 20 points in her past 11 games; the Lynx play at Los Angeles Tuesday night. Moore's streak ties her with Cynthia Cooper for the second-longest in WNBA history. Diana Taurasi holds the WNBA record with 13 straight games of at least 20 points.
Moore has been named conference player of the month six times in her career - twice in 2013, three times in 2014 and once so far this season.
