Medical device company Urologix adds new board member

Christopher R. Barys, a medtech executive, has joined the board of Minneapolis-based medical device company Urologix Inc.

Barys was most recently the chief operating officer of medtech business FlowCardia, Urologix said on Tuesday. Barys has 20 years of experience in the medical field and has held senior positions at Edwards LifeSciences, Johnson & Johnson and Boston Scientific, Urologix said.

Urologix develops, manufactures and markets products for the treatment of urological disorders.

Barys fills the space left vacant when independent board member William Moore resigned earlier this summer. As a result of Moore's exit, the company was not compliant with Nasdaq Stock Market results and had until Dec. 27th to remedy it.
