Kervin Arriaga

Loons scouted him and Honduras national teammate Joseph Rosales in CONCACAF Olympic qualifying in Mexico last March and now have acquired both. Arriaga adds depth, size and youth at both defensive midfield positions now that Ozzie Alonso and Jan Gregus are gone.

Loons acquired him by transfer from South Africa's top division and signed the striker with what Adrian Heath calls "game-changing pace" to a three-year contract with a one-year club option. He's their first Under-22 initiative signing that allows teams to pay young players up to a max salary but with a greatly reduced salary-cap hit.

Oniel Fisher

Pos./ D Age/ 30

Ht./ 5-9 Wt./ 154

Jamaica national team defender, signed to a one-year contract, can play both fullback positions and provides needed left-side depth behind starter Chase Gasper, who didn't train this past week after he was hit in the head in the preseason finale. Fisher also has played for Seattle, D.C. United and LA Galaxy in first seven MLS seasons.

Tani Oluwaseyi

Pos./ F Age/ 21

Ht./ 6-2 Wt. 170

Nigeria-born Canadian national is a tall, rangy striker who would have been drafted higher than 17th overall in the January SuperDraft had he not missed most of 2021 season at St. John's University because of a kneecap injury. He signed a first-team, one-year contract with three club options on Friday.

Eric Dick

Pos./ GK Age/ 27

Ht. 6-5 Wt. 205

Sporting Kansas City's 2018 first-round pick was claimed in MLS Re-Entry draft Stage 2. He's one of four Loons keepers, a group Adrian Heath calls the best in MLS, and his presence could allow them to trade Dayne St. Clair or Tyler Miller in time.

Don't forget: The Loons' former No. 1 overall draft pick, Abu Danladi in 2017, is back as a free-agent striker signing after two seasons in Nashville. So, too, is Luis Amarilla, whose one season in Minnesota in 2020 was shortened by injury and the pandemic shutdown.
