MIAC roundup: Gustavus duo keeps it going, sinks Augsburg

The Gustavus passing combination of quarterback Mitch Hendricks to wide receiver Matt Boyce is giving teams fits.

The senior tandem hooked up for three more scores on Saturday in a 59-42 victory over Augsburg. Boyce has caught nine TD passes this season.

Hendricks completed 26 of 32 passes for 311 yards and four TDs. He also scored on a 4-yard run.

Sophomore running back Karim Ortiz added 178 yards on the ground on 28 carries and scored two TDs.

Augsburg senior quarterback Ayrton Scott threw for 288 yards and three TDs and rushed for 173 yards and one score.

Bethel 58, Carleton 21: The No. 23-ranked Royals are starting to roll. Bethel accumulated 610 yards of offense, nearly 400 in a 45-point first half. Freshman quarterback Trey Anderson was 11-for-14 passing for 220 yards and four TDs.

Concordia 37, St. Olaf 7: The Cobbers scored 28 first-half points en route to the "Lefse Bowl" victory. Sophomore running back Chad Johnson only carried 10 times, but four went for TDs.
