Minneapolis advertising agency Carmichael Lynch didn't have to look far in its new president search.
Minneapolis ad agency Carmichael Lynch names Julie Batliner its new president
Firm promotes head of PR Julie Batliner to post.
The firm named Julie Batliner, the current head of its public relations arm, as its new agency president, the company announced Tuesday. Batliner will take over a role that was formerly held by Marcus Fischer, who was promoted to chief executive last month.
"Julie's commitment to collaboration and evolving our offerings has been key to our success," Fischer said in a statement. "Her ability to orchestrate cross-discipline campaigns is unsurpassed, and she's proven to be a game-changer."
In addition to her expanded duties, Batliner will continue to serve as managing partner and president of sister public relations firm, Carmichael Lynch Relate. She will report directly to Fischer.
Former chief executive Mike Lescarbeau currently acts as Carmichael Lynch's executive chairman and continues to promote the firm as its spokesman.
The agency said consolidation of management of both the advertising and public relations firms aligns with the company's commitment to provide clients "with a fully integrated offering." Carmichael Lynch is owned by holding company Interpublic Group of Companies.
"It's an exciting time for the agency, and I'm thrilled to help continue the momentum," Batliner said in the statement. "With the unique relationship between Carmichael Lynch and Carmichael Lynch Relate, we have a world-class advertising agency and an award-winning public relations firm that can integrate seamlessly as needed. We have a powerful set of tools at our fingertips for clients."
Batliner has worked at the PR firm for 11 years and served as its president since 2015. Last year, the firm changed its name from Spong to Carmichael Lynch Relate.
During her time at the company, Batliner has helped further the expansion of the firm's content lab and social media department.
Carmichael Lynch, whose clients have included Subaru and Jack Link's jerky, has experienced four consecutive years of double-digit revenue growth. Last year, revenue for Carmichael Lynch Relate grew more than 47 percent, and its employee count increased more than 50 percent. Last month, Carmichael Lynch Relate was recognized as the "Outstanding Midsize Agency of the Year" at the PRWeek Awards.
