It's time for our annual frolicsome foray into mud and mirth, armor and amour, guys in gambesons and females in farthingales. Throw in some 16th-century syntax, ersatz English accents and a roasted turkey leg, and it must be the Minnesota Renaissance Festival! It's actually a grab-bag of every period from medieval to the Three Musketeers. This weekend's theme is "the Silk Road," with a belly-dancing contest and microbrew tastings in addition to the usual food, music, comedy, games, rides, arts and crafts, entertainment and performances of all kinds.
