Maddie Houlihan went 3-for-3, including a go-ahead RBI single in the fifth inning, in leading the Gophers to a 9-3 softball victory over Nebraska and weekend series sweep in Lincoln.

The Gophers improved to 32-10, 13-1 in the Big Ten.

Minnesota broke it open with five runs in the sixth, capped by Taylor Chell's two-run single. Amber Fiser (20-6) got the victory.

Gophers women earn No. 6 seed in tennis

The Gophers women's tennis team ended its regular season with two home victories, a 5-2 triumph over Iowa and a 7-0 sweep of Green Bay in which it dropped only nine games in six singles matches.

The Gophers (14-10, 6-5 Big Ten) earned a No. 6 seed and bye into the second round of the Big Ten tournament in Lincoln, Neb., and will face third-seeded Illinois, which handed the Gophers their only home loss, on Friday.

• The Gophers men's tennis team lost 4-3 to Northwestern in the regular-season finale at the Baseline Tennis Center. The Gophers split six singles matches. Four of them went three sets, including Jackson Allen's 6-7, 7-5, 7-6 victory over the Wildcats' Simen Bratholm at No. 4 that took four-plus hours.

Gophers drop finale

Brady Harlan's three-run homer in the fifth inning put Oklahoma ahead to stay in a 5-2 baseball victory over the Gophers at Siebert Field. Jordan Kozicky and Riley Smith drove in the Gophers' runs.

• Angus Flanagan had three birdies and an eagle in a closing 3-under-par 68, leading the Gophers men's golf team to a tie for fifth at the Hawkeye Invitational. Flanagan tied for ninth at 7-under 206.

• The Gophers women tied for 10th at the Big Ten tournament in Maineville, Ohio. The event was cut from three rounds to two because of bad weather. Katie Lillie carded back-to-back 2-over 74s and tied for 24th.
