Minnesota State Open: the details for the 100th anniversary championship

Minnesota State Open Championship

What: A 54-hole stroke play tournament for qualified amateurs and professionals residing in the PGA's Minnesota Section (which includes Minnesota, North and South Dakota; St. Croix County, Wisconsin; and the Superior, Wis., area).

When: Round 1 begins Friday morning; a cut will be made before Sunday's final round.

Where: StoneRidge Golf Club, Stillwater (7,013 yards, par 72).

Last year: Amateur Ben Greve, a member of the Gophers' 2002 national title team and Lynx star Lindsay Whalen's husband, shot an 8-under 64 in Round 2. His two-day total of 134 won the title after the tournament was shortened to 36 holes because of poor weather at Bunker Hills.
