Twins update: After a three-game sweep of the Chicago White Sox at Target Field, the Twins (62-48) make their first visit to Wrigley Field since 2021. The Twins, who won two of three from the Cubs last season — winning the final two games of the series at Target Field 11-1 and 16-3 — have won four of their last five games at Wrigley Field. The Twins went 2-0 in 2021 and 2-1 in 2020 and are 8-12 all-time at Wrigley Field. ... RHPs Brock Stewart (shoulder) and Chris Paddack (forearm), LHP Kody Funderburk (left oblique strain), SS Carlos Correa (plantar fasciitis) and IF Kyle Farmer (shoulder) are on the IL. ... Following the series with the Cubs and a day off Thursday, the Twins return to Target Field for a six-game homestand against Cleveland and Kansas City.

Cubs update: The Cubs (55-59) continue a seven-game homestand after winning three of four from National League Central rival St. Louis. The Cubs, who won 6-2 on Sunday night, are 16-11 since July 4. ... Simley High School product Michael Busch leads NL rookies in home runs (15), on-base percentage (.346), slugging percentage (.460) and OPS (.805). ... Former Twin Jorge López has a 0.66 ERA (one earned run in 13⅔ innings over 12 appearances) since making his debut for the Cubs on June 28. ... RHP Keegan Thompson (right rib fracture) is on a rehab assignment with the Iowa Cubs, pitching a shutout inning against the Saints on Saturday. ... LHP Luke Little (left shoulder strain), who was put on the 15-day injured list July 13, is expected to miss the rest of the season.
