The Guardians have already won the season series, going 7-2 vs. the Twins, and lead the defending division champions by 6½ games. The Guardians won the first five meetings before the teams split a four-game series at Target Field last month. The Twins are 26-13 vs. the rest of the AL Central. ... The Twins finished a 3-3 homestand with Sunday’s 9-2 victory over Cincinnati and are 6-8 in September. ... The Twins, who are 37-37 on the road this season, close out the road trip with three games in Boston, one of their pursuers for the final AL wild card; the Red Sox are 4½ games back, with Detroit and Seattle 2½ behind.

All-Star OF Steven Kwan (back) is day-to-day but missed the final three games of the Rays series. ...
