United still chasing first point

Preview: The Loons remain the only team in Major League Soccer without a point and, at 0-3, have not until now started a season by losing their first three games. Since 1999, only six MLS teams have started the season with three losses and still made the playoffs: Columbus Crew (2004), D.C. United (2007), Seattle (2016 and 2018), CF Montreal (2020) and NYCFC (2020) … In their inaugural 2017 season, the Loons lost the first two games and then went to Colorado and played to a 2-2 draw that was their first MLS point. Colorado is 1-1-1 with two clean sheets, but lost its only home game 3-1 to Austin FC. Minnesota United lost 1-0 to Austin at home on May 1. That was the first time the Loons had lost consecutive games at Allianz Field … The Loons are 0-3 overall at Dick's Sporting Goods Park near Denver … This will be defender Michael Boxall's 100th game with Minnesota United.

Injuries: The Loons list midfielders Robin Lod (chest) and Jacori Hayes (thigh) as questionable and defender Bakaye Dibassy (thigh), midfielder Niko Hansen and defenders Nabi Kibunguchy and Ike Opara (undisclosed) as out.
