Wild update: This is the eighth of 14 back-to-backs this season for the Wild. So far, the team is 3-3-1 in the second halves. The Wild hasn't played the Sabres since Nov. 19, 2019, a 4-1 win at Buffalo. If the Wild starts G Kaapo Kahkonen, it will be the first time in Kahkonen's career he has faced the Sabres. Before losing his past two appearances, Kahkonen was on an 8-1-1 run.

Sabres update: Buffalo ended a six-game losing streak Wednesday, upending Toronto 5-1 on the road. LW Jeff Skinner had a goal and assist, while C Dylan Cozens assisted on two goals. C Tage Thompson has seven goals over his past six games. His 23 goals and 41 points are tops on the team. At home, the Sabres are 8-14-4.
