Maya Moore named Western Conference player of the week

The Lynx's Maya Moore is the first WNBA player to score 30 or more points in four straight games.

This can't be a surprise to anyone who watched Maya Moore start the season by becoming the first WNBA player to score 30 or more points in four straight games, but Moore was named the Western Conference player of the week for games palyed between May 24th and last Saturday.This is the sixth time Moore, in her fourth season, won the award.

Moore scored 34 points in the season-opener, had 33 points and 12 rebounds and five steals in the home opener, She scored a career-high 38 points and 13 rebounds in Tulsa, then came home and scored 30 in a victory over New York on Saturday.

Chicago's Elena Delle Donne won the award for the Eastern Conference.

The Lynx are off today and will have tomorrow off as well as coach Cheryl Reeve lets her team rest after playing three games in four days. The team will practice Thursday, then host San Antonio Friday at Target Center.
