The 20-year-old woman who was fatally shot and left on the side of the street in north Minneapolis has been identified by her mother.

The gunfire occurred about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 1800 block of Lyndale Avenue N., police spokesman John Elder said. No arrests had been made as of Wednesday evening.
Officers didn't find anything at the shooting site, but soon after they found the woman's body on the side of the road in the middle of the 2200 block of Lyndale, Elder said.
While the woman's name has not been disclosed by authorities, she was identified by her mother as Tyneisha Pate, of Brooklyn Park. A grieving Shell Pate posted on Facebook a few hours after her daughter was shot, "my baby didnt deserve this."
A friend of Tyneisha Pate who lives near where the body was discovered ran outside to find the wounded woman in a car with another person whose identity has not been disclosed.
"She was able to drive herself to 22nd and Lyndale … and me and three other people pulled her out of the vehicle to perform CPR," said the friend, who asked that her name not be disclosed out of fear for her own safety.
The friend said she had known Tyneisha Pate for about a year and made a point to mention that Pate "wasn't into drugs and she wasn't into gangs. She was about her family, and this senseless act of violence took an innocent life."
A GoFundMe account started online to help with funeral expenses revealed that Pate leaves behind "a beautiful baby girl who she loved so dearly."
Authorities have yet to explain the circumstances leading up to the killing.
