Hoping to learn more about the events that led up to a fatal hit-and-run incident, the Minneapolis police on Tuesday released a picture of Timothy A. Bakdash, the 29-year-old Roseville man accused of driving his car into several pedestrians in Dinkytown.

Police are asking anyone who remembers talking to Bakdash in the Dinkytown area on the evening of April 14 or the early hours of April 15 to contact Minneapolis police investigators John Holthusen and Christopher Gaiters at 612-673-2941.

Bakdash pleaded not guilty on Monday to charges of first-degree attempted murder and first-degree murder for the collisions that severely injured one student and killed Benjamin Van Handel, 23.

Van Handel died of brain injuries several days after he was allegedly struck by the car Bakdash was driving. Bakdash remains in custody at the Hennepin County Jail. His trial has been scheduled for Nov. 14.
