New problems await as southern Plains stay stormy

The current storminess across the southern Plains that has triggered flashflooding and severe weather will not come to an end with the weekend.Additional rounds of rain next week could lead to new problems, and a heightendanger to residents and motorists.

Disturbances emerging from the Rockies will ignite thunderstorms across theTexas Panhandle and western Oklahoma both Monday and Tuesday.

The storm set to move into California on Monday could eventually be the culpritbehind more widespread rain and thunderstorms in and around Oklahoma Wednesdayinto Thursday.

More details will soon follow about each round of wet weather targeting thesouthern Plains next week. However, there is growing concern that some of therain will fall heavily and lead to more flooding problems. The potential alsoexists that the southern extent of the thunderstorms will turn severe.
